Speaker C:

Podcast with Blake Mosley, James cos, and.

Speaker D:

Amanda Dolan hey, everybody, it's me.

Speaker A:

It's me. It's Jac. And welcome back to Travel Music Speaks podcast, where we talk. Where we fight depression. I'll get it. I'll get it right where we fight our music. I'm precious about Diana Ketos, James Cox, and no, I'm not a voice of scripting developments. But I look like Tony Romo. And I keep thinking about that politician that doesn't look like. But I can't think of his name.

Speaker D:

Ted Cruz? Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, I don't look like him.

Speaker D:

I didn't say.

Speaker A:

Just a lot of people say I do. So I'm like, okay, I have my.

Speaker C:

Theories that Ted Cruz is a serial killer. And if you're wondering who this is, my name.

Speaker A:

I definitely don't want to look like we're going to express that.

Speaker C:

I have my theories. I'm commonly referred to as the loudest guy in the room, but only when I'm playing the drums and when I'm coughing my lungs up. I am your endless source of useless music knowledge. My name is Blake Mosley, aka Brosely, aka emo bemo.

Speaker D:

And then there's me, Amanda Dolan. I may not know the name of the song, the artist, or the album like the other guys here, but chances are I will sing along loudly, proudly, and poorly. Just ask my kids. They'll also tell you I'm not a regular mom. I am a fix it mom today.

Speaker A:

Fix it. Have you heard about the Garth Brooks thing with Tom Segura. He says he is a serial killer. Garth Brooks.

Speaker C:

He says Garth Brooks is a serial killer?

Speaker A:

Yes. Because he says that a lot of fans disappear around the time that he comes to every show.

Speaker D:

Interesting.

Speaker A:

Back where he is from.

Speaker D:

I have not heard that.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker C:

That's a rabbit hole that I would.

Speaker D:

Love to go down. Yeah, I don't want to go down all them. I do enough. Like true crime podcast listening. I don't need to add more theories.

Speaker A:

My basic thing is if I look like Ted Cruz and Lake says that he's a serial killer, I do not want to look like him at all. I would rather.

Speaker D:

Yeah, let's not go down that rabbit hole, either.

Speaker A:

Well, which one?

Speaker D:

All of them. No rabbit holes.

Speaker C:

We're going to do a revisit on Garth. We did a.

Speaker A:

Revisit way back when.

Speaker D:

Garth Brooks. Because sometimes he shows up in. Does he ruins black tie affairs.

Speaker C:

Yeah, that's what he was talking about.

Speaker D:

He's the last one to know and the last one to show.

Speaker A:

He's the first one to know and the last one you thought you would see there.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it all makes sense.

Speaker A:

It all comes together.

Speaker C:

Maybe his Chris Gaines Persona is actually his serial killer. Like, he blacks out.

Speaker A:

We haven't heard from Chris Gaines in years, Blake, because last time we heard from him was like 2006, five or six.

Speaker D:

Right?

Speaker C:

Remember? Yeah. Maybe he turns into Chris Gaines and then he murders people.

Speaker D:

Maybe that's it. But maybe we haven't seen Chris Gaines in a while because he's not doing the blacking out and murdering people.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

Finally got help. Good for know. Good for him. I say good for.

Speaker D:

I'm here. We got this. Well, maybe we should just start doing all the true crime.

Speaker C:

Listen, we can do that.

Speaker A:

We can start another podcast.

Speaker C:

We can do true crime. Yeah, like, we can do a true crime thing. That would be fun. Let's do a series.

Speaker D:

I'm sure there is lots of true crime and music. I mean, what's his name with the hair? Phil Spector. Right.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

That is quite the story.

Speaker A:

We do have Sid from the Sex Pistol. Remember when we talked about the story.

Speaker C:

Of Sid and Nancy from the Sex Pistols? Yep. That's a crazy story.

Speaker A:

Dark story.

Speaker C:

Well, there's a podcast that actually is basically true crime, but all centered around music. Right. And it's called disgraceland, and it's really good. And it covers a lot of stories from musicians who maybe have had public meltdowns and freak outs and maybe even murdered people or whatever. The dark stories that kind of surround music. And he's done several great stories over the years. Some of my personal favorites are his series he did on Bob Marley, and then he covered the gang war thing with Tupac and Biggie, some stuff with NWA and all kind of. Really. It's really good. Oh, cool. Yeah. I'm not sure.

Speaker D:

Check that out.

Speaker C:

But it was pretty big a couple of years ago. Disgrace land. I don't think even did a book. I think he even wrote a book or something. I don't know.

Speaker D:

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Cool stuff.

Speaker A:

So what do you all think about the picture with charms? Wide open, man. I thought, I like it, man. It will love this, because we all love Creed.

Speaker D:

It was spectacular.

Speaker C:

I am so happy. Come back.

Speaker A:

Yes. We need them on the show. Well, hopefully we.

Speaker C:

Were. We were back in Creed before the rest of the Internet was. Check out our Creed episode.

Speaker A:

Yes, we did. Creed. We got a lot of feedback on that one, too.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it was great. We had a lot of positive feedback. I had a blast talking about Creed because they were one of my favorite bands when I was a kid.

Speaker D:

They're a great band. Still.

Speaker A:

Didn'T we do, like, a couple war zone and Blake one time or so with one of your favorite ones? We haven't.

Speaker D:

If we haven't, we need to just another one. I'm sure there are plenty of creed covers out there.

Speaker A:

Also, before you get going, do you all remember when I said, got something very cool in the works?

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker A:

So I'm going to just ruin the surprise because I can't wait to talk about this.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I'm going to show you a book, and Blake knows this guy. So, Amanda, I want to show you this one and see if you know the author of this. Okay. This is the author.

Speaker D:

I know I don't. It looks familiar.

Speaker A:

Okay, so this is a goblin. He wrote the book John Galvicon's guide to living your best life.

Speaker D:

I love it.

Speaker A:

Right? Yeah. So it's a hardback book in the softback, man. I'm a fan, and him and I have been talking on Instagram throughout a couple of years, and him and Blake have a kind of like a spat together.

Speaker C:

Right. I got a beef.

Speaker D:

Oh, yeah. What's.

Speaker A:

Got the. I got the voicemail.

Speaker C:

Can you play that?

Speaker A:

Okay. Yeah. So let me play the voicemail for, uh.

Speaker C:

And mind you, so John Goblicon was, like, one of the first guests we ever had on the show. I was not able to join that episode, and he was pretty upset about it. So that's kind of background.

Speaker A:

What happened was I interviewed Goldberg, one of their guitarists, and John couldn't be there, so he sent me a voicemail. And this part of the voicemail. But this is when him and Blake collided together. So here it is. This is giant Galvan, y'all. Anyway, I just want to say I'm.

Speaker C:

A huge fan of the pod.

Speaker A:

I love when words fail.

Speaker C:

I love what you did, especially you, james. The other guy, not so much.

Speaker A:

Not so much what? So, I mean, that's why Blake is. He's beginning to get him on, because he's got some to work.

Speaker D:

I found him on Instagram. Following him now. I will see if I can find that book and get ready for him.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

I challenge him to a fight. To a duel.

Speaker A:

Do you really want to challenge a real life goblin, Blake?

Speaker C:

I do.

Speaker D:

I have some nerf guns that we use to duel around this house. We can have a nerf gun duel.

Speaker C:

I'm talking old school fisticuffs, baby.

Speaker A:

Fisticuffs.

Speaker D:

Okay. Fisticuffs.

Speaker C:

I got Jack Johnson and Tom O'Leary right here.

Speaker A:

There you go. There you go. If all is planned really well, we'll get them here in two weeks time.

Speaker D:

Sweet. I'm here for it.

Speaker A:

To get those films together. Amanda, start thinking about awesome questions, and we'll get them on. We can't do video with them because he's on the road.

Speaker D:

On the road again.

Speaker A:

He's got to do.

Speaker D:

I just wait to get on the road again. Sorry. You all see, this is what my kids.

Speaker A:

Hey, man. That's what I do too.

Speaker D:

Hate me for. Because my daughter sent me an Instagram post today about, like, every time somebody says something and it's part of a song lyric, I sing the song to them.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker D:

And that is what I do.

Speaker A:

Because it's great.

Speaker D:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Because every time somebody says something that I was like, oh, shit, that song. And then I'm blurred out singing, and we're like, oh, my God. So I'm just like, you about.

Speaker D:

Yeah, I know that it drives everyone, and by everyone, I mean my children completely crazy. Whereas Michael and I will sing with each other full songs in the kitchen while, you know, cooking or whatever. And our dogs look at us like, what is wrong with you all? So really, I guess it's just like, our kids, dogs, whatever. They think we're weird. We don't.

Speaker A:

We're perfect. Yeah. There you. So, Blake.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker A:

What do we talk about today, man?

Speaker C:

Dude, we are going to wrap up our short little series on Paramore.

Speaker A:

Awesome.

Speaker C:

Long overdue. Sorry. It's been a little bit since we've been able to kind of left guys on quite the cliffhanger. I guess now we are going to finally conclude the story. But honestly, I'm glad that it took a little bit because we just had the Grammys this past and Paramore actually took home some Grammys. So we'll talk about that.

Speaker D:

They're doing some covers of some.

Speaker C:

Oh, yeah. I'm glad we waited on that, too. I can't wait.

Speaker A:

Yeah. So I didn't know the Grammys of, I mean, I see all the pictures online, but I don't watch.

Speaker C:

I don't watch them either because I.

Speaker A:

Don'T think it's fan picked. I think it's, like, elite picked, I guess.

Speaker C:

Well, I know that when it comes to a lot of award ceremony things like the Oscars and the Grammys and whatever, I don't think it's a true reflection of, like, because everybody has an opinion on music and everyone's not. Everything is your cup of tea. But it is exciting. Whenever you hear things like, slipknot is, like, nominated for a Grammy, you're like, oh, that is so cool. Like, I love Slipknot. Well deserved.

Speaker A:

Awesome.

Speaker C:

You know, stuff like that.

Speaker D:

Well, and that singer songwriter that I was talking about with, I forgot the name of the band that we saw. Paul. The Robert Paul band. Singer songwriters.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

My favorite singer songwriter won a Grammy for the song that she produced with Brandy Clark. Or she's Brandy Clark. She produced it with Brandy Carlisle. It's a spectacular song called Dear Insecurities. She won several others, so I got excited about that. But I feel like 90% of it is things I don't care about because they're not important. Just they're not my thing.

Speaker A:

Right, exactly.

Speaker C:

However, comma, Taylor Swift making her announcement of her new album after she received her Grammy for album of the year. I think that was really cool. And then there's my. The Grammy coverage that I have is what I've picked up from, you know, they talked about that. Of course, me and Allie, we're big fans, and, you know, it's exciting because we're like, oh, dude, good. Like, I wouldn't consider myself, like, an obsessed swifty, but Taylor Swift has great music, like, period. And I think it's foolish if you won't even give it a shot. You know what I mean? If you were to truly give it a shot. Maybe not everything is your cup of tea, but there is something in her whole catalog that somebody likes, and her.

Speaker D:

Lyrics, great people can connect with her lyrics. Even if you don't love the music behind the this, it hits. And you can always find a song, a Taylor song that goes with your mood, whatever it is. Absolutely.

Speaker C:

I think there's a lot of songs, especially when you factor in mental health. There's a lot that people connect with when it comes to songs, just the way that she's open and honest with her songwriting. There is something for everyone. Every one of us have felt that way at some point, and I think she.

Speaker D:

Yes. So. But anyway, let's talk more about Paramore. Because Paramore is why we are here.

Speaker C:

That's why we're here. We could talk about Taylor Swift. I could talk about Taylor Swift all day.

Speaker A:

We know Amanda can, too.

Speaker D:

I could just.

Speaker C:

I don't have them in here, but real quick. So Ali's been playing guitar a lot more recently. She bought four Taylor Swift song books, so it's like lover or Evermore and Red. So she's got the official song book. So she's like learning how to play a lot of her songs on guitar. So pretty cool. But anyway, let's get into Taylor's not. Just kidding. Let's get into part two. Here we go. All right, so we're going to talk about their self titled album. This is really kind of like where we left it off last week or last time. We're kind of capping off the quote unquote emo era of Paramore and what so many people, like we mentioned before, if you were to have a Mount Rushmore of emo music, I feel like Paramore would be up there as one of the four groundbreaking put the music on the scene. Bands Paramore had a lot to do with, you know, they kind of capped it off with that last album and with their self titled is really where their modern sound started to really come into play. Right, we're going to talk about that. Let's go ahead and jump in. So on April 18, 2012, Williams announced that the producer of their fourth album, excuse me, was Justin Mendel Johnson. And I love this. I did not know this until we did the research for it. Former lost prophets and current angels and airwaves and nine Inch Nails drummer Elon Rubin, who I absolutely love. Guy is a massively crazy good drummer. He did the recording for the self titled album by Paramore. Now that I can go back and listen to it, and I know that that's like, oh, hear it all day long. I'm like, of course, that's him. Why did I not pick up on that before?

Speaker A:

Also, if you get hired by a wrestler, you're really doing something. You're good. Because linger sales is not an easy band to play for.

Speaker C:

No. And the guy he got to start with, like, I mean, he's kind of been around for a while, but I don't know if you guys are very familiar with lost profits. I think we talked about them before.

Speaker A:

Sort of, but not really. Yeah.

Speaker C:

I really liked lost profits, but there was a lot of stuff that happened with their lead singer. He's a piece of crap.

Speaker D:

He is a terrible guy.

Speaker A:

Okay. Yeah. He's labeled as the most evil guy in music history.

Speaker D:

Could he be part of our. We can podcast series on.

Speaker A:

Yeah, because he's the most evil guy on.

Speaker C:

He is vile. He is evil.

Speaker A:

But I didn't know that was lost prophets. Okay.

Speaker C:

That was lost prophets. And he was like. He came in later. He wasn't the original drummer. Yeah, he came in a little bit later, but, yeah, he's currently playing with Angels and airwaves, which, if you don't know, is the drummer is Tom Delong from Blink 182. That is his side project. Adam will play drums and angels and airwaves. Now he's with alkaline trio. So it's cool. All these guys kind of like circle throughout.

Speaker D:

Different.

Speaker C:

Anyway, so, yeah, Elon Rubin. And then I'll throw this in here because it wasn't in my notes. So he played on the recording of that album and played drums and. Sorry, I just realized I never started a timer.

Speaker A:

I got it.

Speaker C:

Sorry. Okay, but before we get to that, for a while, not the entire time, but a majority of the early tours that they went on and supported this self titled album. Aaron Gillespie played drums from under oath and almost. So Aaron Gillespie, one of my favorite drummers know joining was. It was crazy. It was like this post, like, he left under oath. It was on very bad terms. He had nothing to do with that band anymore. He was kind of like figuring out what he was going to do. This is right before he came out with like a solo worship album. He's playing drums repair more. Then he does the worship album, then he's like the almost is kind of getting back together and doing some things, and the next thing you know, he's back in under oath like nothing ever happened. So what a wild run that guy has had. I can't wait to talk about him one.

Speaker A:

Right, right.

Speaker C:

But I compare him to being like, he's a modern day Dave grohl.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

Start out playing drums in a very. You start your own band where you take over as frontman playing guitar like very Dave Grohl. Anyway, all right, here we go. Now, let's talk about the self titled album. So Paramore was officially released on April 5, 2013 and at number one on the US Albums chart. And a number one at US Albums chart, Billboard 200. Sorry. The first single from the album, titled now, was released online on January 22, 2013, and the album's second single, we all know it, still into you, was released on March 14, 2013, achieving commercial success. The third single, daydreaming, was released on December 2, 2013, and the album's fourth single, ain't it fun, was released on February 4, 2014.

Speaker A:

Ever.

Speaker C:

What a great song, right? Eventually becomes biggest charting song in the United States and a winner for Best Rock Song at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Okay. On November 24, 2014, Paramore self titled Deluxe was released, which includes a remake of hate to see your Heartbreak, a song originally on Paramore, featuring Joy Williams. This is the first band's first collaboration on a song. The band embarked. I got another song I want to throw out there. Really, really good. Escape Route is another good bonus track that was not on the original album.

Speaker D:

Okay.

Speaker C:

They did the is, and the reason I love it so much is it is very old school sounding, paramore, which is probably why it wasn't included, because it didn't fit the vibe of the rest of the album. Coming through, a lot of changes. They were changing up their style a good bit, but when you listen to it, it sounds very much like it could have been on riot, like it could have been on brand new eyes. And I think that's what I love about it so much. In fact, when I first heard it, I just thought that's what it was from, but it was not. It was from this album. So pretty cool. All right, so the band embarked on an intimate tour with Copeland. They said in a blog post that, quote, it feels right to bring the self titled era to a close. We've had a very personal and hugely triumphant journey with this one. And what wouldn't feel right is saying goodbye to this time in the band's career and not celebrating it with our fans in some special way. Here we go. We're going to talk about this dude's departure for a third time. On December 14, 2015, bassist Jeremy Davis left the band again. And for this time, it's for good until he comes back, right?

Speaker A:

Probably.

Speaker C:

But anyway, March 2016. Can't stay away can't stay away in March 2016, Davis was involved in a legal battle with Paramore, claiming to be eligible to enjoy the benefits of a business partnership with Haley Williams as a co owner of the band. This was quickly dismissed as he was again involved with a legal battle with Haley Williams and Taylor York over a breach of contract entitling him to ownership and authorship of songs on their self titled record, including Ain't it Fun? And again, claiming to be eligible to enjoy the benefits of the earnings that the two received from these songs and the album, Davis reached a settlement with the band in May of 2017. So this is something you see a lot in the history of Paramore, because a lot of it kind of goes back to that really weird deal that.

Speaker D:

They had where Haley Williams signed with a different. And I still will stand by this. What I said last time, where she fought for her band. She did. She did. She didn't have to. She could have easily been successful without them, but these were people that mattered to her, and she wanted to keep them around, and I think that that says a lot about her.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

And I stand by that. I think that she did that for her band more than she did it for herself.

Speaker C:

I totally agree. Well, she's such a powerhouse of a front person, right?

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker C:

Like, credible singer, great stage presence, and a memorable show. If you were to go see them, you would put it down in your top five, for sure. Because of her stage presence, she brings a lot to it. So I'm not surprised that she is the main focus. Whenever the record executives are looking at Paramore, like, she's probably the center of it, you know, just wants to be on the same level of Haley Williams, and you just, um.

Speaker D:

There's not a lot of artists, period, on her. Just. There aren't.

Speaker A:

No, I can't think of anybody. Right.

Speaker C:

I think. I think it's a very similar situation to what we've seen with Blondie, what we've seen with no doubt. And very similar situation. Like, you have the front person who is the center of the band, and the rest of the band just kind of falls back into the shadows. But you're right, she stood by them. She fought for her band the whole time. And it sucks that it kind of came to.

Speaker A:

Yeah. There are things that the other members can do to make their presence really well known.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker A:

But again, it's because Tommy Lee, drummer for everybody, knows him because of his antics, and so he's a drummer. He's back in the back. People know him pretty much more so than Vince Neil, which is a lead singer.

Speaker C:

I agree.

Speaker A:

There are stuff that band members can't do to get the name known more, but then again, I don't think that the rest of Paramore really cared about. I don't know.

Speaker C:

Yeah. And kind of like, one thing that's not in the notes here, too, but something I came across is during this period, too. So this is the first album that doesn't feature the.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker C:

You know, the guitarist had left his brother drummer. Both of them were gone. And as we'll see in just a know, the drummer comes back eventually. But there is still some really harsh relationships, a very harsh relationship between Paramore and the guitarist that they had. There was a lot of things going on spiritually. In an interview, he was like, well, we all were christians when we started this band. That wasn't our main focus. It will come out in the music at some point just because when you write music, eventually you touch on those kind of subjects. But that wasn't their thing. They weren't out preaching to kids every night or anything like that. They just happened to all be christians. But they all kind of, like, started changing their beliefs in a lot of ways. And the guitarist was not going down that route. And Haley Williams had really kind of changed her beliefs. The drummer had Taylor York also, and that was another reason that everybody just started butting heads. But, yeah, go ahead. Sorry.

Speaker D:

No, and that makes sense, right?

Speaker C:

Because.

Speaker D:

Those beliefs are such a part of your identity and matter so much. I get that.

Speaker C:

Yeah. So also during this period, lead singer Williams later revealed that she suffered from depression and mental health issues following the departure of Davis, as well as a divorce with her ex husband, Chad Gilbert. And for those of you who don't know, Chad Gilbert plays guitar in Newfound Glory. And, yeah, they were together for a while. Haley Williams was actually in one of their music videos. They did a cover album that was, like, all about, like, it's called from the screen to your stereo. Part two. There's three parts. It's really good. So basically, they took all these songs from different movies and just did, like a pop punk spin on it. But they did kiss me, and Paramore is in that music video, but rightfully so, because Chad Gilbert.

Speaker A:

Wait, you mean six minutes under Richard?

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Where's you. Go ahead. Sorry.

Speaker D:

I can't help it. Song lyrics thing.

Speaker C:

She. A song with newfound Glory for one of their albums that came around in this time to vicious love, I think is what it was called. Really great track. Anyway, divorced Chad Gilbert in an interview with Zayn Low on beats one radio. She describes it as torment and mentioned that she didn't laugh for a long time as a result. Williams privately left the band for a short period in 2015, briefly leaving York as the only remaining member of the group. That's weird. Left, uh, for a very brief. So.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker D:

And also, kudos to her for taking the time to take care of.

Speaker C:

Absolutely. Yeah.

Speaker D:

So, yeah, I'm just going to leave it at that. She took care of herself. And I love that.

Speaker C:

I do, too. I think that's important. So Zach Pharaoh's return and then the follow up after laughter so on January 19, 2016, Williams announced that the band was in the process of writing their fifth album. On June eigth, 2016, the band posted a short video of themselves in the studio to their social media. This was preceded by a number of images, which all included both former drummer Zach Farrow and producer Justin Mendel Johnson, leading fans and various media outlets to speculate the return of Pharaoh. On June 17, Pharaoh was featured yet again in a picture uploaded to social media, this time behind a drum set, confirming that he would be recording drums for the album. Though he later clarified that he was only recording drums for the album and that he had not rejoined the band as a full member. The lie detector test determined that that was a lie because despite this, on February 2, 2017, the band announced that Pharaoh would return as the official drummer of the band. And to this day, he is still the official drummer.

Speaker A:

Nice.

Speaker D:

I love that.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's good.

Speaker C:

Even though he came back and you still have three core members of Paramore, the sound is still drastically different.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker C:

Learn here in a second kind of what it sounds like. So on April 19, 2017, Paramore released Hard Times as the lead single from their album after Laughter, which they announced would be released on May 2, 2017. I'm a pause here because I remember hearing hard times for the first time and being so disappointed and betrayed because I was like, this sucks. Like, it. It doesn't sound like Paramore. They sound like the talking heads and nothing wrong with there's right.

Speaker D:

We'll get there.

Speaker C:

We'll get. But, yeah, like, it just didn't sound the same to so. And I wasn't the only one. There was a lot of people that felt betrayed. That felt like, oh, my gosh, who are they? Is. This is stupid. I even came across a Facebook memory of, like, have you ever seen the meme of the picture of the horse? And it starts out with the tail end of the horse? It's like very detailed, epic looking.

Speaker D:

Yes.

Speaker C:

It's less and less and less good. Like Paramore's albums. And I was like, this is accurate now. I'm eating those words because after laughter has really grown on me.

Speaker A:

Okay, good.

Speaker C:

I will admit that I was just being dumb. But on May 3, a second single was released titled told you so. And then a music video for the song Fake Happy was released on November 17, 2017. On February 5, 2018, a music video for Rose Colored Boy was released, which is also the album's fourth single. The music video for Caught in the middle, the album's fifth single, was released on June 26, 2018. On September 7, 2018, Haley Williams announced during a concert that the band will play the song misery business for the last time, for a really long time, unquote. Well, so mainly to a line from the second verse that was perceived to be sexist, though this decision was reversed in 2022, so it didn't last. But yes.

Speaker A:

Because I heard that whole fan base was like, what?

Speaker D:

Which is interesting, which is the song I listened to today or one of them from my workout.

Speaker C:

So now I'm like, so it's the line, once a whore, you're nothing more. I'm sorry, that'll never change that. Was it okay?

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

Well, they were like, we're not going to play that song for a long time. Insensitive lyrics, whatever.

Speaker A:

Why don't they change the lyric?

Speaker C:

Well, I don't love that changing lyric.

Speaker A:

Well, I mean, it's your own song, so you can do what you want with the song.

Speaker D:

No, I agree.

Speaker A:

But I understand what you're saying, though.

Speaker D:

And I think that it opens a great conversation, too, when you talk about those lyrics. And I actually think that I get maybe sexist and also as a woman and as the mom of a teenager, those are things that kids say and that you hear. And I think that you can use that to say these are the stereotypes or these are the stigma, whatever that we place on, especially girls, and then have that as a discussion instead of just not going to play it.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker C:

Yeah, I agree. I think best approach, because what was happening a lot during this time was there were a lot of bands that were saying, we won't play the song again because of the lyrics, that the lyrics don't hold up. We wrote the song 20 years ago and it doesn't fit in today's climate, so we're not going to play it anymore. Really sucks because sometimes it's like a fan favorite and you're willing to realize, okay, the song was written 20 years ago and we changed our views on a lot of things and I think it's important, but at the same time, it's a song that we know and love and, like, what a lot of people do. There's a lot of people that believe certain pieces of media shouldn't be erased from history. It should just be prefaced with, like, this was written in a different, like.

Speaker A:

Really a different know.

Speaker C:

Some people really believe in preserving history so that we can learn from it. And I think that's the important part. Darren Marler from Weird Darkness does a great job with, like, sometimes on his podcast, he reads segments from books, and it'll be like HP Lovecraft, who was a very racist, terrible person, and he prefaces those episodes with, I believe in preserving history. I will not be editing out things from this book because I think it's important for us to learn from it. And I like that. I think that is important. So maybe you're right. Having that conversation, instead of just being like, oh, we won't do it anymore. Why don't we talk about it? Let's talk about it. It does open up a good conversation for you to have with people.

Speaker D:

Yes. And I think that when we are like, okay, I'm not going to do that anymore. Okay, you're not going to do that anymore. Whatever that was, you've learned from it. But let's not forget about it because it is part of history. There's lots of things like that where I'm like, that happened however many years ago. They don't behave that way anymore. They don't talk like that. Whatever. So why are we trying to cancel somebody for something they did 25 years ago?

Speaker A:

I agree.

Speaker D:

Now, if you did it, like, last week and you have no remorse, then that's a whole other discussion.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker C:

You're a trash human that needs to be put in their place because they have beliefs that cut people down. Whatever. I think that is more of a conversation to be had where it's like, we got to get rid of this dude. But, yeah, something like misery business, which is easily their biggest song.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah, absolutely. Big time.

Speaker C:

They were not going to play it anymore. Honestly, that would piss me off if I paid all this money to go see them. And they never played a favorite song.

Speaker A:

By them expecting it.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker C:

But to not play your biggest hit, I think not fair to your fans.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker D:

I agree.

Speaker A:

It's a tragedy.

Speaker C:

Now they play it, now they have it altered. The lyrics. They still say the line, but is what it is. It's where we're at. Okay. Now we are up to date, kind of. We're on their latest album. So let's talk about. This is why on May 11, 2020, Williams teased a potential return to a more guitar driven sound on the band six album, commenting, quote, we found ourselves listening to a lot of our older music that we grew up being inspired by, unquote. Keep that in mind. In January 22, it was confirmed that the band had entered the studio to work on their upcoming six studio album. The band described their album as more guitar heavy, which I would not describe it as that.

Speaker A:

Really? How would you describe it?

Speaker C:

I would say it sounds like talking heads. Okay, so that's just me. And then on January 18, the band was announced to headline the newly founded Las Vegas based when we were young festival alongside my Chemical Romance on October 22, 2022, which was one of the first live performances the band had played since September of 2018. Do you all remember that? The when we were young festival?

Speaker A:

Yes, I remember that festival. But I'm confused on was it last year or the year before?

Speaker C:

They've done it the past two years.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

And I think they've already announced the lineup for next year.

Speaker A:

Okay. I'm not sure who all was there, but when we were young was like bands way back when, right? Exactly.

Speaker C:

It was exactly that for people who like my age when we were young. So everyone thought it was fake.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

When they put up the poster, they were like, my chemical romance and paramore play in this festival.

Speaker A:

They're not coming back.

Speaker C:

Right? Everyone was convinced it was fake up until even the day of they were convinced that this was not real. Really? Half the day got canceled because of very strong winds that Las Vegas was seeing. I remember this, right? So it was like people paying Boohoo's of money to fly out to Vegas, right, to see a stacked. I mean, it was an emo kids stacked final dream, right? It was Mikem. It was paramore. It was. Anyone back? Silverstein? Anyone back?

Speaker A:

Let me see if I could pull.

Speaker C:

Up the thing and then, yeah, see if you can pull up a lineup from 2022. And everyone was just convinced it was not real. And then the whole win situation was happening and then half the day was canceled and people were like, oh, my God, we just wasted all this money. And thankfully it was not fake because later into the night they played Paramore played that first night, I believe.

Speaker D:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I got it. Okay. These are just some of them. It's my chemical romance taking back Sunday. Paramore. Ever. Levine. Silverstein. Silverstein. I don't know how to pronounce Silverstein.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay. A day to remember. Great band. Story of the year. Bring me to rising four years strong. Dance given. Dance made a parade since the sale salesman, which is great Saleson, Jimmy E. World, all american redux and Pierce of.

Speaker C:

Vale, just to name a few. That wasn't even the full lineup. Crazy.

Speaker A:

There's many.

Speaker D:

So many more.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker C:

Yeah. Pull up 2023, just so you can see, because my brother in law Brian was convinced that we were going to go to the 2023.

Speaker D:

Oh, my gosh. Okay, so 5 seconds of summer, blink 182, green day. Good. Charlote, Michelle Branch. Like, these don't belong together, but they do. The offspring, newfound glory, plain white tees. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker A:

Holy crap. I wish I would.

Speaker C:

Yeah. The first year was, like, very emo driven. The second year was way more pop, punk, pop, punk bands we listened to when we were kids. And then this year, it's more emo focused. But what they're doing, all these bands are playing their songs or their albums, like their biggest albums in.

Speaker D:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah. That's why Green Day was playing Dookie from the front to the. Oh, yes. Yes. I love the is.

Speaker C:

I know, I know. Green Day won't be at this year's when we were young festival, but yes, they do plan on doing, because they.

Speaker A:

Did a whole tour of the first album, didn't they, like, last year sometime?

Speaker C:

So they've got a new album out that they're doing, but in support of the new album, they're playing new songs. But yes, they are doing a tour, too, where they're playing Dookie in full and they're going to play american idiot.

Speaker A:

Oh, wow. Man, I wish I would just.

Speaker D:

That song. Yeah. This year, everything from simple plan, my chemical romance, the used, the Wonder Years.

Speaker A:

Amazing.

Speaker D:

So awesome.

Speaker C:

Yeah, I would love to go because there's a lot of albums that are being played that meant a lot to me, and I would love to go see these bands play those albums in full. It would be great.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker C:

Especially the wonder years. Like, they're playing my favorite album by them, but when I saw them, it was great. But it was at New Brooklyn and it was an acoustic set, so I haven't experienced playing in full.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker C:

Anyway, so, yes, when we were young is in fact real, and Paramore played and it was great and it was awesome. There's a great picture of Paramore with my chemical romance, and that's the supergroup that I wish would happen, and it would change my life. On May 10, it was announced that the band would headline the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas. Right?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

During October, on the 9th, and the 16th of the same year, alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pink and Lil Nas X. Yeah, he's a strange one. He's very controversial. But I watched the Austin city limits with Paramore on YouTube, like, in full, and it is so good. Just.

Speaker A:

Okay, I got to check it out then.

Speaker C:

They do a great job of playing the old stuff. They do play their new stuff, too, but it's like a good mixture. So it doesn't make you mad that they're not playing anything from riot or anything like that. They even played decode and all the. Everything that an emo kid loved as a youth, either.

Speaker D:

Ute.

Speaker A:

What's a ute?

Speaker C:

A ute.

Speaker D:

I love that movie.

Speaker A:

Which one was I?

Speaker D:

My cousin. Yes, my cousin Benny.

Speaker A:

What's a ute?

Speaker D:

It's a great movie.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

On July 15, 2022, it was announced that Bearmore would be embarking on a tour in October and November of 2022. On September eigth of 2022, the band released the song this is why. As the lead single from the album, this is why, released on February 10 of 2023. This is a great song. It is catchy. Like bass line. I really do like this song.

Speaker A:

If I can interject here. Okay. So for fans listening to this, go to our YouTube channel and find my reaction of this is why I didn't like the song then. I love the song now. It just grows. Yeah. Because when I first started, I'm like, no. And then I started really getting into it. I'm like, okay, that's pretty good.

Speaker C:

It's different.

Speaker A:

Very different for the past.

Speaker C:

And then in November of 2022, the band changed the album cover for their 2013 self titled album to a picture of Haley Williams from behind. And I know why because Jeremy Davis was on the original album cover. So that is why. Anyway, this is why. That is why. So, yeah, he gone on December eigth. I wonder, whenever he comes back in a couple of years, if they will then go back to the original album cover.

Speaker A:

They all come back.

Speaker C:

They all come back. On December eigth, 2022, the band released the second single, the News. And then on January twelveth, 2023, the band released the third single, say what is that?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Say lovey.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

That's another great.

Speaker D:

Oh, sorry. Yeah, that's totally.

Speaker C:

Paramore was nominated for favorite music group at the 2023 Kids Choice Awards. Man, I used to love watching that. What a good time. They used to slime people. It was so fun. February 6, 2023, the band debuted the song running out of time at their album release show in Nashville. On February 16, 2023, the band released a music video for the fourth single running out of time. And then the band song this is why was nominated for best alternative at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. Something I also used to enjoy watching their moon man. The moon man.

Speaker A:

Yeah, the Moon man award. Yes.

Speaker D:

And I was sitting here like you said, slime. And it made me think of the original, like where Slime started, which was. Well, you can't do that on television. Nickelodeon back then starring the great Alanis Morissette.

Speaker C:

Yeah. So I'm talking about.

Speaker D:

So there you go. Bring it all back around to all around.

Speaker C:

Although you guys want to go down another rabbit hole, there's some really questionable things happening in Nickelodeon and always have been.

Speaker D:

Oh, yeah, no, there, yes.

Speaker C:

Very terrible.

Speaker D:

Some time. Enjoy that rabbit hole as well. You can also go down the Disney Rabbit hole from the same time frame.

Speaker A:

You still want to work for Disney.

Speaker C:

Place after know, I've never wanted to work for Disney, but I've heard some stuff about Disney and there's some questionable things there's questionable things with. Right, like, right. Well, not that it makes it any better. It's just you go looking for it, you're going to find it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Stuff is weird.

Speaker D:

Yeah, there's some not okay. Not okay stuff.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker D:

And again, if you find it, if you're looking for it, you're going to find something. You could look into my past and you could be like, oh, I found whatever that thing is. What I did when I was also one, thank goodness there was not a whole lot of digital media when I was a kid. But two, you find things and it doesn't mean that that's who I am anymore or that I would you learn from. I'm a whole different person now than I was when I was 16.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker D:

Thank God.

Speaker A:

Right? Yeah.

Speaker D:

Not want to be that 16 year old anymore. But yeah, you can find things. I think it's about where are they now? How are you behaving in this moment?

Speaker C:

It's what we talked about the other day in our interview. It's not about what you've done in the past, it's about what you do from here. What do you learn from what you've done? How do you take what happened to you and future butter for you and for other people? Anyway, man, where am I at? There we go. The band began teasing an upcoming remix album, remix called Re. This is why in late September 2023, posting audio snippets from the album on their official discord server. The album was officially announced on October 2 and the album is set for release on October 6, which is my anniversary. Nice about that. So described as almost a remix album. Re. This is why. Features reworked, remixed, and rewritten versions of songs from the band's 2023 album. This is why. As well as an unreleased b side demo for the 66th album Annual Grammy Awards. This is why. Was nominated for Best Rock Album and the album's title track was nominated for Best Alternative Music Performance. All right, where are we at? Here we go. So we're getting into some more recent updates from the world of Paramore. On December 27, 2023, Paramore wiped their social media accounts and the band's website became inaccessible. Do you remember?

Speaker A:

I remember that you were texting about this.

Speaker D:

We talked about it. Yeah.

Speaker C:

You guys were like, oh, my God.

Speaker A:

Oh, what are they doing? Right?

Speaker D:

And then I started. I found some stuff. That's what I do. Find the thing.

Speaker A:

You are our detective, Amanda. If anything me or Rick needs, we can always go to you or anyone else out there.

Speaker D:

If you need something found, I can probably find it on the Internet. Or if I can't, I'm telling you, it's the female bureau of Investigation. Women.

Speaker A:

It works.

Speaker D:

Like, we are amazing at finding things out.

Speaker A:

Be careful. I'm telling you, my mom can find stuff that me and my dad, we link for hours and days. I don't know. What?

Speaker D:

Yeah, well, I swear. Yeah, my son, I was like, hey, is there this thing that fell on the floor of the car back there? And he's like, no, I don't see it. I don't see it. For, like, the 20 minutes we're in the car, he doesn't see it. As soon as we get to the parking lot, I, like, opened the door and I'm like, it's bright red. It's right here. I didn't see it. How?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker D:

I don't know if that's because he's a teenage boy or because he's a boy. Yeah, I don't know. Probably because he's a teenager and completely. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker C:

So we all thought they were breaking up, right? And so did the rest of the world, because a week later, they canceled a co headlining appearance in Anaheim at iHeartRadio's Alter ego festival, scheduled for January 13 of 2024, and said, Due to unforeseen circumstances, before we get into this.

Speaker A:

Too.

Speaker C:

We'Ve already talked about Taylor Swift, and we're going to talk about her again. So Taylor Swift goes and does. Fearless or, no, not fearless. Excuse me. Speak now. Taylor's version and there is a song, like from the vault that is featuring Haley Williams castles. And it is so good. Oh, my God. I'm going to send it to you guys. Okay. Crazy good. All right. Because those of you don't know, Taylor Swift and Haley Williams have been friends for a long.

Speaker A:

Very.

Speaker D:

Which makes sense. They grew up in the music. They grew up doing this together.

Speaker C:

Right. Same age, not necessarily same scene, but.

Speaker D:

Young women in the music industry that are talented singer songwriters. You need support from people like you.

Speaker C:

They have been close friends for a long time. So I love it because Taylor Swift's european eras tour that she is. No, not currently doing. I think she's embarking.

Speaker A:

She's done with it.

Speaker C:

Paramore is opening for her.

Speaker D:

Really?

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Well, I mean, we're mixed friends.

Speaker C:

Be a great show to go to.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

All right. So anyway, so, yeah, unforeseen circumstances. Everybody's like, oh, they're breaking up. So in their place, follow up boy was announced, who is also on Taylor Swift's speak now. Taylor's version with a song. It's really good. So stereo gum said that Paramore's label contract had expired. Whoopsie. And then on January 10 of 2024, a 24, which is like, I'm trying to wrap my head around exactly what a 24 is because there's a lot of horror movies that have come out recently and it's like a 24 that is releasing them. But I guess they have a label, too. I don't know. Anyway, a 24 is the one that announced that a tribute album for the Talking Heads concert film called stop Making Sense, which will feature a cover of burning down the house by Paramore as the leading track. So crazy good.

Speaker A:

Burning down the house.

Speaker C:

Such a good song. Their cover is really good. I want to do a cover wars of that and the used version of burning down the house they did for one of the Transformer movies.

Speaker A:

Sure. Yeah.

Speaker C:

Both of them are really good. So more on that later. Come back for that another time.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

So in January of 2024, the band were nominated for best international group at the 2024 Brit Awards. And then on January 31, their cover of Burning down the House was released as a single. And it is so, so good. On February 4 of 2024, the band won two Grammy awards. This was last night.

Speaker A:

Yesterday.

Speaker C:

Last night, the band won two Grammy awards at the 66th annual Grammy Awards with their album. This is why winning best rock album and the title track, winning best alternative music performance. So good for them.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Winning Grammys, making a comeback, doing the dang thing and I really regret all the things that I used to crap all over them for. When after laughter came out, I was like, dude, this band is not the same. I hate this new direction they're going. And I eat those words now because it really grew on me. But I took the time to listen.

Speaker A:

To, so I read online, this is not true by any means of this, but one person thought that the reason why they blacked out their whole social media was they were re recording every album that they did collect what Taylor did.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I don't know if that's still true or not. They might. I don't know.

Speaker C:

I would hope so. That would be amazing.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that would be awesome.

Speaker C:

We'll see. That may be a trend that you start seeing more and more thanks to people like Taylor Swift.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah, because you have to do what the label says, but if that. I mean, you could easily record after you get out of the contract. But I think you're right. I think it's going to be like a resurgence and brand new material, but it's the same material just reimagined. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker C:

I think whatever they decide to do from here, I think we're just going to have to sit back and watch them get as creative as possible. Right.

Speaker A:

Which is a good thing.

Speaker C:

That's a great thing. I used to have such a major issue with bands expanding past their genre borders and getting experimental, and now I can listen back to some of that stuff and be like, you know, why didn't I appreciate this when it came out? Bands like Lincoln Park, I did that with Lincoln park. There was some stuff I didn't really care for.

Speaker D:

But I think that just comes with age. Music tastes change.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And you also appreciate music a lot more now than what you did back then because it was.

Speaker C:

It is okay to like whatever we talk about all the time. We don't believe in guilty pleasures.

Speaker A:

No, not anymore.

Speaker C:

If you like it, you like it. Okay, right? If I want to listen to Slayer one day and then Taylor Swift in the afternoon, I feel like Taylor Swift, which I have done. That is okay. And if you got a problem with it, then I'm sorry that you have nothing better to.

Speaker A:

Agree.

Speaker C:

So, good for them. And also, Haley Williams has been a good role model, I feel like, for just looking at what all she has accomplished, we didn't even get into this. But not only what she's done with the band, but she's got a very successful hair product line that she has launched, too. That is really starting to take off. And all the accomplishments that she's done with collaborating with other artists and really breaking out from that Walmart warp tour like, mall core scene that the early 2000s had and crossing over into pop radio. She did the song with Bob airplanes that was all over the place. Man, what a talented. And then she's something. She's great.

Speaker D:

Just amazing.

Speaker C:

She is. And then I found something here talking about, like, the legacy of Paramore. It came from this website called a girls to sound sense, but G-R-R-L-S.

Speaker A:

It's not that many r's, too many r's, or anybody who wants to go out there and look too many r's.

Speaker C:

And my head hurts too bad to count the r's.

Speaker A:

There we go. Amanda, looks like four r's.

Speaker C:

Okay, there we go.

Speaker A:

With four r's. Ls two cent.

Speaker C:

So they had this really cool article that they wrote up about Haley Williams and Paramore and kind of wrapped it up perfectly, I feel like. So they said. In many ways, Paramore was pop punk's lifeline because they brought a fresh perspective to a genre that was getting stale and overwrought with male aggression. They brought new life to a scene that was dying and gave it a blood transfusion. We needed a woman in that particular scene to take the world by storm and unapologetically let the girls know that they don't owe it to anybody to constantly put on a happy face and abide by societal norms. And there's no shame in being angry or depressed. Haley Williams paved the way for the onslaught of women who had rised to prominence in her respective scenes, such as Lyn Gunn of Paris, Sophia verbia from Harmony woods, and Bethany Casentio from Best coast. And the most incredible part is that people are finally listening.

Speaker A:

Nice.

Speaker C:

That was like, there's so many people that really give credit to her. And, I mean, another one that I really like. Olivia Rodrigo.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

We talked about it before.

Speaker D:

I love her.

Speaker C:

She's great, and she's a big paramore fan. Haley Williams has been, like, her idol for so long. Good for you. It's basically misery business, but that's, like, it's not a copyright thing, like, haley Williams looks at as a compliment. In fact, she brought Olivia Rodrigo. I think we talked about it before. It's one of the two. Either Olivia Rodrigo was performing and brought Haley Williams out, or Paramore was performing and brought Olivia Rodrigo out, but they did a mashup of good for you and misery business. They're very similar sounding.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Anywho, there we go. Paramore part two.

Speaker A:

Nice.

Speaker C:

We did it.

Speaker D:

Love it.

Speaker A:

So there should be no reason why you should be depressed listening into this amazing episode we did for you all today.

Speaker D:

But if you are, it's okay.

Speaker A:

But if you are upset that Blake has a slight tension of flu. I know.

Speaker D:

Fear.

Speaker A:

He's still alive and with us and he has a mental health minute for you all.

Speaker C:

Heck, yeah. So, yeah. Here's five top tips to help manage your mental health. Number one, catch up with some friends over a cup of coffee. I'm actually doing this tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it with a friend I haven't seen a long time. Yeah, it can be easy to get into a rut and not make time for your relationships. I do that all the time. Try to check in with friends and family by picking up the phone or schedule a regular catch ups over video calls, whatever you need to do. Number two, limit how much news you consume. There's a lot of gloomy news going on at the moment. Listening or reading too much of it can increase your anxiety. Setting yourself a daily limit can help protect your mental health. Or if you're like me, you just write it off altogether. I haven't watched the news.

Speaker A:

I don't either.

Speaker D:

Yeah. My theory is if it's something that I need to know about, somebody's going to tell me.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker C:

Number three, this is something else I've been doing recently. Stay active mentally and physically. Keep yourself active with a daily walk, a workout, reading a book or doing a jigsaw, or all of them. I've been going to the gym again in the mornings and it's been great. And I enjoy doing little things like reading, puzzles, whatever. Starting to do a lot.

Speaker D:

Yeah. There's a puzzle that I love. It's like wordle, except for it's 32 words.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker D:

So much fun. I love it.

Speaker A:

I'm a nerd.

Speaker D:

I'm sorry, but it's so much fun.

Speaker C:

Wordle was a lot of fun.

Speaker D:

I enjoyed wordle and the gym. That is my place to listen to music. And I'm sure the people there look at me like I'm crazy because I'm dancing and I don't care because I'm having fun. I'm there for me.

Speaker A:

There you go. That's how. Yeah, that's it.

Speaker C:

Number four, don't be afraid to ask for help during challenging times. It's perfectly natural to struggle mentally. Try not to bottle up your feelings and speak to a friend or seek professional help. I got therapy today.

Speaker A:

Or if you have a pet tell the pet, because the pet can't talk back.

Speaker C:

Yeah. I tell my pets all my deepest, darkest secrets.

Speaker A:

There we go.

Speaker C:

Thank God they wouldn't be able to go on trial.

Speaker A:

Just as long as you get that out.

Speaker C:

Basically, I'm a dog. No, that's what I do. Also, number five, curb your alcohol intake. Contrary to popular belief, drinking too much alcohol can exacerbate negative feelings, anxiety, and worry. Struggle with your mental health. Try to ensure that you're not drinking too much. And sadly, that is something that I have seen a good bit with a lot of people. There's a lot of things that people don't want to talk about, so they rely on things like getting drunk or drugs. That's dangerous.

Speaker D:

And here, I'm going to put this out there, too. If you think, like, I have a hard time falling asleep, I'm going to have a drink to relax me. Alcohol will help you fall asleep, but the sleep that you get is not as good as if you are not drinking. So you actually wake up less rested. And that, as I think most of us know, solid rest, solid sleep is, like, one of the best things you can do for your mind and body. So drinking will mess up your sleep as well. I'm not here to say, like, don't go have a drink with your friends, whatever, but be conscious of how much you're drinking and all that jazz.

Speaker C:

That's all it is. Everything. Like, it's okay. Things in moderation, right?

Speaker D:

Everything in moderation, right?

Speaker C:

Everything in moderation. Because it can be dangerous and anything. It doesn't even have to be.

Speaker D:

I feel like when I was in high school, somebody died from drinking too much water for some radio show thing.

Speaker C:

Where you literally drown from drinking too much water. Right? I agree.

Speaker D:

Yeah. Moderation, everyone.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker D:

And if it starts to feel like it's out of control, go talk to someone professional or a friend, get some support. There's great resources out there. The Internet is great for some things.

Speaker C:

I agree. All right. How about it, guys? We did it.

Speaker D:

That's it.

Speaker A:

We did.

Speaker C:
